Reveries: Central Park!

I know you're supposed to put up pictures from the wedding and then pictures from the honeymoon, but since Bryson and I don't have our pictures back from the photographer, we'll put those up later. For those of you who didn't know, we went to New York for our honeymoon, and it was AMAZING!! It did require a 6AM flight and half a day of traveling but we made it!

The apartment we were staying at was about 3 blocks from Central Park, so our first full day in New York we grocery shopped, had amazing food from a street vendor and then headed to the park. It was absolutely beautiful! It amazed me that you could walk from the busyness of the city, into the quiet and serene beauty of the park. As Bryson and I walked further into the park it felt like we weren't even in the city anymore, but had been transported into the lush green countryside. I took so many pictures while we were there, so here are some of the highlights of the bottom half of Central Park (That's as far as we got in one day :) )

Bryson and I found out that there a lot of bridges in Central Park! It was really fun to see how everyone was different from the last. It brings something fun and special to the park. The next couple pictures are of some of the bridges we came across.

I think this was my favorite bridge. It had such an enchanting quality about it.

This was the Literary Walk, a big avenue with benches on either side and enclosed by American Elms, which provide cool shade on New York's hot summer days.

The Bethesda Fountain on the lower level of the Bethesda Terrace. Behind the fountain is a lake where you can rent boats enjoy the beauty of the park from the water.
